Hot Water Treatment Program :

Since the start of 2005, several excited exporters have approached the USDA Attaché seeking clearance to ship mangoes to the U.S.A. The Attaché and Officer in Charge, Mr. Alester Simmons was pleased to inform them of the process needed for implementing this treatment option, that is, the Hot Water Treatment Facility, which is currently not available at either of the two Export Complexes which house USDA-APHIS in Jamaica. All the steps were described which would create a way for this to happen. It is now dependent on the exporters and their cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and the USDA, to make this dream a reality!
